Based in New England, award-winning ensemble Trio Ondata will travel all the way to the Basalt Library to perform a program of diverse, powerful, and invigorating of music for piano trio (violin, cello, piano). 

A bold and exploratory young ensemble, Trio Ondata is drawn to the fringes of the classical repertoire, striving to cultivate spaces of close listening in a busy and loud world. Through an inquisitive approach defined by advocacy, dialogue, and thoughtful programming, Trio Ondata hopes to facilitate a connection with wide-ranging repertoire both old and new. Composed of violinist Michael Ferri, cellist Miriam Liske-Doorandish, and pianist Anthony Ratinov, the trio is dedicated to presenting music of the highest caliber from all eras, whether contemporary music by historically marginalized artists, obscure Haydn trios performed with Baroque bows, or underplayed works from composers who loom large in the canon.

Trio Ondata has swiftly drawn attention on the national stage, winning Silver Medal as well as the inaugural Horszowski Trio Prize at the 2022 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. They won the Yale School of Music Chamber Music Competition the same year, and in the spring of 2023 received both the Gold Medal and Audience Choice Award at the Yellow Springs Chamber Music Competition for Emerging Ensembles.

Trio Ondata es un conjunto musical joven, audaz y experimental que se ve atraído hacia los límites del repertorio clásico, procurando cultivar espacios para escuchar con atención en un mundo ruidoso y atareado.
